During one of Conor Burkes hospitalizations, his mother noticed lots of children sitting around without any joyful activities to lift their spirits. She thought, "What if we could give every child something to bring them a boost of hope?" It was that day that the Happy Hope Bag idea was born.
Happy Hope Bags bring joy to children who endure long-term hospitalization and treatments for a variety of life changing circumstances. These gifts bring HOPE to the children who are fighting against the odds every day. Happy Hope Bags bring smiles to the kids faces and helps them find peace through the storm.
What is the Gift of Hope Project?
Happy Hope Bags are a boost of hope for children who are hospitalized, all children, regardless of their illness or disability.
Happy Hope Bags provide hours of activities taking a child’s mind off of their treatment or illness. Every bag contains Playdoh, something to color, a pack of crayons and a handmade Happy Hope card. Other items may include Kohls Cares plush animals, reading books, playing cards, games, pediatric toothbrush/toothpaste kits, “Hope Smiles” lip balm and iTunes gift cards.
